Mark 10:13-16 And they were bringing children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.
Children should be seen and not heard. I grew up hearing that sort of logic. It was a common saying when my generation were kids. I worked in schools for many years and saw again and again that even there young people are not always the most important people in the school, not even their education.
Jesus valued children and was indignant when the disciples wanted to exclude them. My church is working hard to value children and to teach family members to bless their children and grandchildren every day. Jesus both blessed children and said that anyone who leads one of them to sin would be better putting a mill stone around their neck and being thrown into the sea. The sea remember or the abyss is represents the place of residence for evil.
Protect our children, bless our children, value our children, these are the same mandates of my Lord.
