John 4:47When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea toGalilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son,for he was at the point of death.48Jesus therefore said to him,“Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”
What does God owe me? The answer for me is nothing. I have the gift of life and the world to live it in. I have companionship along the way and freedom to choose my way to live life. Even if I was not one of the most blessed people on earth God would not owe me, I owe Him.
People in third world countries have gratitude for what God has done for them, while many in our wealthy nation are still looking for signs and wonders before they will believe.
Jesus still performs signs and wonders as he did for the man who asked for the healing of his son in the gospel passage. God has not gone out of the signs and wonders business, but should we require more and more to find the gratitude for all God as done?
