Who Scatters?

Luke 11:23  He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.

Perhaps another question is what do we gather and scatter? This line sits in the middle of a passage about the authority to cast out evil. I do however take seriously anything Jesus says that might imply that I could be against him. I don't want to be a scatterer. I choose to be with him as a gatherer. The message of Jesus is that the kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. We are to gather others into this kingdom and if we don't gather than we scatter. If we don't think it is important enough to gather others into this kingdom than we are scatterers, sending them away from the Kingdom of Heaven. He doesn't have seats for observers. He does have room for indulgers who seek grace for themselves but not to help them gather in others. Gather or scatter, for or against, such important choices.
